Mondovì
The new “North-West” journey of Dialoghi d’Impresa has started in Mondovì (CN), the event series that celebrates the storytelling of family businesses. It’s a unique opportunity for dialogue between different entrepreneurial experiences, all united by their ability to innovate while maintaining a strong connection with their territory — a key strength of Credem Euromobiliare Private Banking.
On stage, three leading figures from emblematic businesses of the Cuneo area took turns sharing their stories: Fabrizio Boveri (SIMIC), Roberta Chiola (Gruppo Chiola), and Roberto Conterno (Azienda Vitivinicola Conterno Giacomo). Their testimonies highlighted a business vision that blends energy, strategic thinking, and a strong focus on people — proving that success stems from the balance between human values and strategic vision. These stories also show how Italian excellence can grow from small local realities to reach international prominence. Yet, this is not always the case.
Alongside those who continue to innovate and grow, there are many entrepreneurs who face the challenges of time and an increasingly competitive market, where internationalization, digitalization, and sustainability demand new choices and new forms of leadership. As we move further away from the post-war period, the passing of time also brings to light the delicate issue of generational transition — a crucial phase for the continuity and future of a business. When managed well, this transition can lead to new success stories, as demonstrated by the three companies from Cuneo.
To close the evening, our Head of Corporate Finance Advisory, Simone Citterio, shared insights on this very topic. In many cases, M&A can provide a powerful solution to ensure continuity, organizational development, and new growth perspectives when the founding family’s internal capabilities are no longer sufficient. Supporting entrepreneurs during this phase starts with listening, then applying a rigorous methodology built over decades of working alongside Italian SMEs — always with sensitivity and respect for the company’s and family’s history. Today, the outdated binary logic of “keep everything” or “sell everything” can be overcome through advanced solutions, where the founding family can remain as majority or minority shareholders, building strong and successful partnerships in a much more complex landscape than in the past.
We are proud to be Main Sponsor of Dialoghi d’Impresa, because we believe that fostering dialogue and reflection on how to grow family businesses today means creating value for companies, families, and local communities. A special thank you to Luca Robaldo, Mayor of Mondovì, and Confindustria Cuneo for their contribution to this first stop of a journey that will continue with the traditional November dates in Venice and Treviso.
